Is upgrading to version 1.5 mandatory?

No, upgrading is not mandatory. However, upgrading is required for users to take advantage of the new app features. To upgrade, visit the Apple App Store.

Can I join a live demo to try out a meeting on my iPhone?

You can join a WebEx demo meeting directly from your iPhone. Launch the WebEx app or visit http://m.webex.com from your iPhone to join the demo.

How do I join a meeting on the iPhone?
  1. Download the Cisco WebEx Meeting Center application from the Apple App Store for free.
  2. Click on the url in the “To join this meeting” section in the WebEx invitation email.
  3. Follow the instructions that appear on your screen to join the teleconference.
  4. (If joining from a 3G or older model) Go to the iPhone Home screen and tap on the WebEx icon to join the Web portion of the meeting.

You can also join a meeting by launching the app and entering the WebEx meeting number or by clicking the url in a calendar invitation.

Is it free to attend a meeting on the iPhone?

There is no cost to download the WebEx Meeting Center application on the iPhone, or to attend any WebEx meetings you’ve been invited to join. However, regular telephony/phone charges still apply. Please check with your carrier for more information. To schedule, start, or cancel a meeting and to invite attendees before and during the meeting, you need to subscribe to a WebEx host account.

I have a WebEx account. Is my WebEx site iPhone compatible?

WebEx release versions WBS26 and WBS27 are iPhone 1.5 compatible. Certain restrictions may apply based on your company’s policies and WebEx implementation. To check your release version, go to the WebEx meeting site (i.e. company.webex.com), click on the Meeting Center tab, then click on the Support option on the left hand navigation. Under Support, click on the User Guides. On the top right hand corner, see the client build version number. iPhone compatible sites will have versions numbers starting with 26 or 27.

How do I schedule and start a WebEx meeting and invite people to my meeting from the iPhone?

If you have a WebEx host account, you can schedule a WebEx meeting and invite attendees to your meeting. First, launch the application. Second, select the option to Sign In. Enter the email and password associated with your WebEx account. Then, from the My Meeting list, click on the "+" button in the upper right hand corner. Enter the meeting title and start time and duration and hit done. After scheduling a meeting, you can start, invite, and cancel the meeting. You can also invitee attendees during the meeting.

Can I present content from my iPhone?

You can view a presentation, document or application shared from another computer, but presenting from the iPhone is not supported. If you are a host of the meeting, you can start your meeting from the iPhone and then assign presenter privileges to one of the attendees who joined on a computer.

Is WebEx on the iPhone available globally?

Yes, this application works wherever iPhones are supported and 3G / WiFi networks are available. In addition to English, WebEx on the iPhone is localized in, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. For other iPhone language settings, the application will appear in English.

Does the WebEx application for iPhone also work on iPod Touch?

Yes. An attendee can join the web portion of the meeting on an Apple iPod touch on WiFi, but will need to join the audio portion from a phone.

Does the WebEx application for iPhone also work on iPad?

WebEx has an iPad specific app, WebEx for iPad. You can download the app from the Apple App Store.

What are the minimum iPhone system requirements for WebEx Meeting Center on the iPhone?

iOS 2.0 and above; active cellular or WiFi connection (the application will not function in Flight Mode). More features are available on iOS 4.0 and above.
