What is Cisco WebEx Meeting Center?

Cisco WebEx Meeting Center allows business professionals to easily and reliably reach across the web to collaborate with colleagues, partners and customers, inside and outside their organization. The solution increases the reach, speed and the cost effectiveness of business through media-rich web-based meetings that enable multiple parties to conduct business meetings online—anywhere, anytime, any device including computers (Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix) and now on Nokia smartphones and other smartphones.

What are the WebEx Meeting Center features available on Nokia smartphones?

WebEx meeting attendees can now join scheduled meetings through the browsers of their Nokia smartphones:

  • Attend a pre-scheduled meeting on Nokia smartphones with integrated audio and data. Attendees can join meeting from the meeting invitation email, from a link in the calendar event, or from the company’s WebEx site—all from Nokia smartphones.

  • View a presentation, application, and desktops shared from another computer with annotations.

  • View list of meeting participants and meeting information.

WebEx meetings needs to be first scheduled and started on a computer.

Which Nokia smartphones support WebEx Meeting Center and what are the system requirements?

Nokia S60 3.0 (or later) model is required to achieve optimal user experience. The following phones have been tested: E51, E52, E55, E61i, E63, E65, E66, E71, E71X, E90, N85, N86, N96, N97, 5630, 5730, 5800 Xpress, 6210, 6220, 6710. We will update this information as more smartphones are certified.

What are the network requirements?

To use WebEx on your smartphone, you’ll need an active 3G cellular or WiFi connection. Users can also attend WebEx meetings on 2.5G phones but they’ll need to select only one media, either data or voice. If 3G is used as the access network, the smartphone needs to be compatible to the local 3G network.

What are the WebEx Meeting Center requirements?

The mobility features on Nokia smartphones are supported on the latest release of WebEx Meeting Center (WBS27).

How much will this cost?

There is no cost for attendees to join meetings on Nokia smartphones. You must have a current WebEx Meeting Center subscription to schedule or host a meeting on a computer. Regular telephony and data charges still apply; please check with your mobile operator for more information.

How do I get access to this feature?

WebEx Meeting Center on Nokia is available to customer upon request. If you are interested, please contact your Cisco WebEx Account Manager.

Is WebEx Meeting Center service available globally?

Yes, WebEx applications are available globally with meting attendees from 150+ countries. Besides English, WebEx Meeting Center is localized in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Sweedish, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.

How do I know that my WebEx meeting on my Nokia smartphone will be secure?

All WebEx meetings are delivered on an on-demand, carrier-grade Cisco WebEx Collaboration Cloud, configurable for each organization’s policy requirements. All of the data exchanged in Cisco WebEx meeting applications is routed through the Cisco WebEx Collaboration Cloud, a dedicated, secure and global network of data centers. This network provides 24/7 accessibility with fail over capabilities, and accommodates peak usage times.

Whenever Cisco WebEx meeting applications are used, the data is encrypted and hosted on this secure network and delivered to a variety of end points including desktops and mobile devices.
