WebEx Connect Collaborations Services

Develop composite collaborative application “mash-ups”: WebEx Connect Collaboration Services Platform

Give users real-time and asynchronous collaboration services combined with a rich presence, identity, and instant-messaging infrastructure. Interconnect traditional WebEx meeting services with instant team collaboration across time and company boundaries.

The WebEx Connect Collaboration Services Platform and WebEx Meeting Services API Platform work interactively via distinct integration mechanisms and APIs. The WebEx Connect development platform delivers enterprise applications into the WebEx Connect user experience by “mashing up” network applications and services into a single, composite desktop experience—distributing contextual information to users.

This development platform includes the following components:

Widget Framework: The Widget Framework provides the infrastructure and services for developers to construct WebEx Connect Widgets. Widgets bring together one or more application services into the WebEx Connect client and user experience. The Widget Framework offers a full-featured environment for presenting application data and functions in the context of a business process, and includes a real-time event model, resource and parameter management, localization, and more.

WebEx Connect Platform Services: WebEx CPS provides a web services based API (SOAP/REST) that Widgets access to interact with the organizational model, including groups, users, roles, policies, and a set of services for document management, calendaring, and more. The WebEx CPS data model is completely extensible at every level, enabling you to integrate business data in the context of its usage, with secure, policy-driven access controls.

Plus, take advantage of meeting services APIs via the WebEx Meeting Services API Platform : URL API, XML API, and TSP API.

WebEx Meeting Services API Platform

Integrate your products and services with WebEx: Meeting Services API Platform

Incorporate WebEx meetings into your applications using the WebEx Meeting Services API Platform. Give your users the ability to access web-based meetings from within your applications. These APIs provide access to each WebEx application-level service, and to underlying core capabilities that include user administration, telephony integration, scheduling, single sign-on, and usage reporting.

The WebEx Meeting Services API Platform and  WebEx Connect Collaboration Services Platform work interactively via distinct integration mechanisms and APIs. This development platform offers three distinct APIs:

  • URL API: The URL API is a convenient, lightweight, HTTP(S)-based mechanism that provides browser-based, external hooks into WebEx meeting services. The URL API is typically used in enterprise portal integrations to support basic interactions such as Single Sign-On (SSO), scheduling meetings, starting and joining simple meetings, and inviting attendees and presenters.
  • XML API: The XML API is a comprehensive set of services that supports most aspects of WebEx meeting services, including detailed user management, comprehensive scheduling features, attendee management and reporting, and more. The WebEx XML API employs a services oriented architecture (SOA) to provide comprehensive services to external applications wishing to interact with one or more WebEx services.
  • Teleconference Service Provider (TSP) API: The TSP API provides full-featured XML-based integration with audio conferencing networks. The integration architecture supports redundancy, fail-over, and load balancing, and provides robust features that tightly integrate audio conferencing capabilities with telephony management and provisioning in the WebEx environment.
