GlowPoint and WebEx Team to Offer Comprehensive Video Communication and Web Collaboration Solution

WebEx Online Meeting Capabilities Integrated into Sony’s IVE Mobile Desktop Video Service powered by GlowPoint

HILLSIDE, NJ and SANTA CLARA, Calif., October 5, 2005—Glowpoint, Inc. (Nasdaq: GLOWE), the world’s leading broadcast quality IP-based video communications service provider, and on-demand collaborative applications provider WebEx Communications (Nasdaq: WEBX), today announced that they have entered into an agreement to create a comprehensive video communications and data collaboration solution for customers worldwide. As the first step in this alliance, GlowPoint will be integrating WebEx web meeting capabilities into Sony’s “Instant Video Everywhere,” or IVE™ Mobile video communication service enabling customers to add real-time data collaboration to their video meetings.

In a separate release, Sony today announced that it will feature the WebEx-enabled IVE Mobile solution on two new product offerings: www.prnewswire.com/news/index_mail.shtml?ACCT=104&STORY=/www/story/10-05-2005/0004160378&EDATE=

“IDC sees continued strong demand for solutions that make communication and collaboration more efficient,” said Robert Mahowald, program director, collaborative computing at IDC. “The integrated WebEx-GlowPoint client is designed to address this demand by making it easier for PC manufacturers and enterprises to deploy on-demand collaboration solutions.”

The IVE (pronounced “ivy”) service, powered by GlowPoint, makes video communications as easy as placing a telephone call—with the power of “anytime, anywhere” face-to-face communications. IVE Mobile offers users a consistent video communications experience whether in the office, at home or on the road in places such as airport lounges, hotel rooms or coffee shops. Setting the standard for feature-rich IP-based videoconferencing, IVE incorporates GlowPoint’s patent pending applications, including “All You Can See” Unlimited Video Calling Plans, ‘000’ Live Video Operators, Direct Dial Video Numbers, Video Call Mailboxes and ‘Lisa’ the Video Call Assistant. With the new integration, GlowPoint customers will be able to click on a WebEx branded button to instantly launch into a secure, interactive web meeting.

“The WebEx application suite helps companies increase the velocity of business by moving collaborative processes—such as sales, training and support—onto the Web,” said Ray Villareal, vice president of field operations and marketing at WebEx. “By adding access to the WebEx suite of applications, GlowPoint gives business users the ability to enhance the interactivity and productivity of video conferences with integrated online meeting capabilities.”

“For years the industry has viewed video communications and web collaboration as competing services,” said David Trachtenberg, chief executive officer of GlowPoint. “This integration between GlowPoint and WebEx seamlessly combines our advanced video features and services with the leading web collaboration solution to create a flexible package that customers can use at the office, on the road and or in their home.”
