NEW DELHI, March 9, 2006—Recognizing India’s growing outsourced support and systems management market, WebEx Communications (Nasdaq: WEBX), the leading provider of on-demand collaborative business applications, today launched its new WebEx System Management Services in the Indian market. WebEx System Management Services is an on-demand solution for managing software and hardware assets across the Internet, and local and wide area networks.
India’s offshoring and outsourcing industries can now provide secure and cost efficient system management services to their global customer. Within India, market sectors such as pharmaceuticals and technology are rapidly expanding and this has increased local needs for remote desktop and IT asset management. According to Gartner the worldwide system management software spending was $6 billion in 2005 and is expected to grow to $7.3 billion by 2008*.
“WebEx System Management Services is a perfect fit for the expanding Indian market,” said Subrah Iyar, chairman and CEO, WebEx Communications. “WebEx System Management Services allows Indian companies to leverage their skilled IT professionals to offer virtual help desk and IT support to local and global customers.”
WebEx System Management Services provides on-demand remote access, and support and maintenance capabilities that enable business owners and IT departments to cost-effectively manage, protect and secure software and hardware investments. Since there is no software to install or maintain, WebEx System Management Services removes the risks and costs traditionally found in complex software implementations. Until now, such advanced IT management capabilities were beyond the reach of many businesses in India who did not have dedicated IT departments or big budgets for system management software.
“The business environment in India is extremely competitive today and providing high-quality support is not simply competitive advantage, it’s a customer requirement,” said Kiran Datar, managing director, WebEx India. “WebEx System Management allows Indian companies of all sizes to offer a level of proactive support and maintenance traditionally out of reach for most businesses.”
