Before the Climb: Cisco Engineer Takes Us with Him to Mt Everest
In early May, Cisco engineer, Brian Dickinson will be at the base camp on Mt Everest just hours before his ascent. We plan to be there with him. Before he leaves the US, he's going to talk to us while he's still at sea level from his home so we can learn more about what is motivating this incredible climber.

Meet Brian via WebEx this Thursday! Register Now!

Brian is on a mission to climb The Seven Summits, to take toys to orphanages in the countries he visits and raise money for AIDS Research. His personal journey has become an amazing global adventure that is reaching far beyond his expectations.

After this week, we are hoping the next time we'll see Brian is on May 4 at base camp on Mt Everest just before his summit attempt. He will already be at 17,000 ft. Via WebEx he'll tell us what he's doing to prepare for the final ascent.

About Brian Dickinson

Brian grew up in Southern Oregon and has always been enthralled with the outdoors and extreme sports. He was a helicopter rescue swimmer in the Navy for six years stationed in San Diego where he met his wife, JoAnna. They have two children, Emily and Jordan.

Brian has already climbed three summits: Mt McKinley in May 2009, Mt Kilimanjaro in February 2010 and Mt Elbrus in July 2010. Mt Everest is probably the most risky climb (read Bear Grylls account here).

You can keep track of Brian's daily progress via his blog.
