When setting up your room, consider the position of the Quad Camera, the displays, and the space between the audience and the device. To get the best viewing angle between the remote presenter and attendees, as well as the in-room audience, we recommend placing the video bar above the live video/remote presenter display. When installing it under the display, make sure the display is mounted at a height that offers a natural viewing angle for in-room participants.

To help the local presenter maintain eye contact with the remote audience, we recommend bundling the installation of the Cisco Room Vision PTZ tracking camera with a remote audience screen that can be deployed on the sidewall or the ceiling opposite to the presenter podium. The remote audience screen can also be mounted on the wall opposite to the front-of-room setup in smaller auditorium scenarios and duplicated across multiple confidence monitors.

Enhance your audio experience with an acoustically absorbing suspended ceiling panel along with acoustical wall panels on adjoining walls. For rooms with parallel glass walls, use heavy curtains or special transparent acoustic panels. Decorative elements like the wooden batten pattern can be effectively used as wall absorbers. To dampen the sound of footsteps and moving chairs, we recommend carpeting on the floor. We recommend engaging an acoustical/AV consultant to optimize the acoustics of larger spaces.

When deploying the Room Kit Pro, adding external microphones is critical for optimum speech pickup. For maximum acoustic coverage, we recommend adding multiple Ceiling Microphone Pro units. With a coverage of 3.5 meter / 11.5 feet radius, the AI adaptive ceiling microphones capture one or multiple presenters’ voices in parallel as they move around, and also pick up speakers from the audience in fixed and adaptive room layouts.

This room layout allows a flexible, modular approach to equipping your large auditorium or community spaces with a solution that works with external displays of any size, third-party AV furniture, and specialized mounting options. Alternatively, you can opt for the Room Kit EQX integrated solution featuring a main AV module that conceals all conferencing components and multiple integrated deployment options for the floor or wall. The setup also works with AV credenzas from Cisco partners.

This room layout ensures everyone can be seen and heard, with the video wall providing an unobstructed view for all attendees and ample space for the presenter. For everyday seminars and other community spaces, consider deploying a tiered, semi-circle seating layout with fabric finishes; this creates a more comfortable and inclusive experience while improving room acoustics.

To ensure meeting participants look their best, they should be lit from the front (fill light), top (key light), and back (backlight). For optimal visibility, eye contact, subject highlighting, and scene depth, use glare-free luminaries with a beam angle of 90°or wider to evenly distribute light throughout the room.

We recommend using a light intensity of 400-500 lux, measured vertically, to clearly capture facial features, and 700-900 lux for optimal brightness on horizontal work surfaces.Room lighting should be even, and a light color temperature of 4000 K is generally suitable for most scenarios. For accurate color representation of skin tones and interiors, use a color rendering index (CRI) of 85 or better.
